I’ve started work on my next feature film project mixing the documentary The Last Season, directed by Sara Dosa and produced by Academy Award nominee Josh Penn. It’s a lovely film set in the forests of Oregon, of which I spent some time in last year doing location field recording in preparation for post on this film.

A lot of new festival updates this time of year. First off Blue Highway previewed at the Philadelphia Film Festival, where lead actress Kerry Bishé also received the festival’s Rising Star award. The film will then travel to Poland to have it’s World Premiere at the American Film Festival as part of the Spectrum Competition alongside some of the year’s best American indie films.

Also playing the Philly Film Fest was Caucus, where it won the Special Jury Prize for Best Direction. The film also played Camden International Film Festival to rave reviews, such as FilmMaker Magazine calling it “One of the great political non-fiction films of our time.”. Next up the film will play at AFI Fest here in Los Angeles in November, as well as rolling out it’s theatrical release in Iowa.

We Always Lie to Strangers is also trucking along, playing the prestigious DOC NYC Film Festival at the beautiful IFC Center in New York. It’s also going to be the Opening Night Film for The St. Louis International Film Festival as well as the Tuscon Music and Film Festival.

Midnight Daisy played ShreikFest here in Los Angeles, while Cement Suitcase played the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, Big Bear International Film Festival, Orlando Film Festival, Tacoma Film Festival, Eugene Film Festival, Santa Cruz Film Festival, as well as winning the Audience Award at the Ellisburg Film Festival.

And last but not least, Open Mic Night After the Apocalypse is now available streaming on Hulu, in addition to recent festival appearances at DocuWest, Indianapolis Film Festival, Action on Film Festival and the World Music and Film Festival.
