David Byrne’s Contemporary Color
I’m proud to have spent June working in New York and Toronto alongside the Ross Brothers and David Byrne (of Talking Heads fame) supervising audio production for the Contemporary Color concert tour. These performances were chronicled by the Rosses (and a small army of acclaimed vérité shooters) for an upcoming feature length concert documentary I’ll be mixing. I’m proud to be collaborating again on my 4th film with Bill and Turner Ross, on yet another documentary project filled with incredible sights and immersive sounds.
As for the concerts themselves, they were a huge hit, with Rolling Stone calling it “a once-in-a-lifetime moment” and that it “blows minds”. There were glowing articles in the New York Times, Huffington Post, Toronto Star, Village Voice, and many more.
We recorded every possible angle and sound in this show, and it’s going to be a fantastic project to mix in upcoming months.
Western Wins San Francisco International Film Festival

I was able to travel up to my hometown Bay Area to represent the film and it was an amazing experience overall. The film has been doing fantastic on the festival circuit, having accumulated awards from Sundance, SXSW, Ashland, Indie Grits, and now SFIFF.

First A Lego Brickumentary debuts July 31st theatrically, and the trailer can be watched here. The film also had a secret sneak preview screening at this year’s Comic-Con, and Gizmodo wrote about the trailer launch and why we love Legos
And here is the trailer for Being Evel, released by Gravitas Ventures, and hitting theaters August 21st.

Upcoming Projects: Mixing in New Orleans with Court 13, and an Eli Roth horror film
Very excited for my next round of projects this summer. Although I just got back from the David Byrne concert tour on the East Coast I’m about to pack my bags again and head to New Orleans to work on a fantastic series of films for Time Magazine produced by Court 13 (the Oscar Nominated makers of Beasts of the Southern Wild).
I’m also mixing a wonderfully throw-back horror short executive produced by horror maestro Eli Roth, I’ll be posting more information about that when it is publicly released.
And lastly I’ve also been working with the wonderful folk at MightyPlay Entertainment and Cengage designing sounds for a series of educational math learning games.
It’s been a wonderful summer of excitement and travel and working on great projects, and even more to look ahead to in the fall!
