Wildcat Premieres at Telluride
It was an amazing time working over the summer on the feature documentary Wildcat. Set deep in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, this film follows a young British soldier struggling with PTSD who goes into isolation in the jungles of Peru to lose himself, only to find an American scientist who is helping raise and nurture an orphaned baby ocelot deep in the wilds.
Set almost entirely outdoors in the thick wild rainforest, this beautiful and complex film also features a beautiful and complex soundscape. Mixed in Dolby Atmos, I had the pleasure of working with a dream team of sound editors to bring all the diverse sounds of the Amazonian biome to three dimensional and vibrant life. In addition to that, I had the privilege (and adventure!) to travel on-site into the rainforest FAR removed from human civilization to to live and stay with the researchers on a remote campsite and record a custom higher-order ambisonic and multi-channel location sound library so that audiences watching at home can feel what it is like to be immersed in the sounds of the deep rainforest.
It was an absolute dream to work on this film, and it recently had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, earning wonderful reviews and kicking off its festival tour. Directed by Melissa Lesh and Trevor Frost, Wildcat will be coming to Amazon Prime in December!
Changing the Game and Procession both Emmy Nominated
Both Changing the Game and Procession were nominated for Emmy awards this year. I’m so thrilled to see both films and their important messages and causes continuing to resonate far and wide.
Girls Got Game Debuts for ESPN
It was an honor to work on the ESPN Fifty/50 short Girls Got Game, as part of their commemoration series on the 50th anniversary of Title IX passing. Directed by Elizabeth Lo, the short film follows the all-female competitive Valorant e-sports team Complexity – GX3. The film was a joy to work on, and a joy to get a glimpse behind the scenes in the competitive gaming world.
