Tina Debuts on HBO Max

It was an honor and a joy to have been the Supervising Sound Editor and Re-Recording mixer for the feature documentary Tina, which just had its premiere on HBO Max.

Directed by Academy Award winners TJ Martin and Daniel Lindsay, the film is a look back at the life and career of Tina Turner, and is chock full of incredible interviews, music and performances!

The film is sitting at 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, fueled by a bevy of wonderful reviews from Variety, Vulture, Indiewire, the NY Times, and many many others. It also had the best debut of a documentary ever on HBO Max.

The film was a pleasure and a joy to work on, and I loved being immersed in all the sounds, music and mix!

Rebel Hearts Premieres at Sundance

Due to the pandemic, the Sundance film festival went virtual in 2021, but I’m proud my seven year streak of Sundance debuts continues, as Rebel Hearts premiered in-competition there this year.

Directed by Pedro Kos, the documentary tells the story of The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a group of nuns who bravely stood up to the patriarchy of the Catholic Church, fighting for equality, their livelihoods, and their own freedom against an Cardinal who sought to keep them in their place.

The film received great reviews from Variety, the NY Times, the Wrap, and others. It will continue its festival tour at Hot Docs, Cleveland, and Miami, and was purchased by Discovery+ and will debut on the platform later this year!

Feels Good Man Wins Cinema Eye

Last years Sundance award-winner Feels Good Man continued its streak of accolades, being nominated for a Cinema Eye documentary award for Outstanding Debut Feature, and winning for Outstanding Achievement in Graphic Design and Animation.

It also made a variety of end-of-year Best Films lists, including by Paste Magazine, Thrillist, Exclaim, and even the American Library Association!

Additional News Roundup

Other recent projects included an ad for the Biden campaign during the presidential election season, working with New York theater director and Robin Frohardt on the film version of her uniquely visual and live-action puppeteered public art installation The Plastic Bag Store, which will be debuting in April, and upcoming branded content work that I can’t wait to share more about soon for Google! In addition there were some more studio upgrades in here, as I finally retired my trusty (but ancient) Blue Sky systems for new JBLs. Newer studio photos for the website will be coming soon!
